About my
Artwork
I love finding very subtle details and intricacies and reproducing them accurately in my artwork. One of my biggest strengths is that I am willing to put in the time required to always produce the best work I can. In terms of personal style, I enjoy using powerful images, intense darks and colors, and heavy contrast, paired with careful detail. I want the intensity and accuracy of my artwork to draw people to look at it for just a little bit longer as they pass by it, in order for them to think deeper about the meaning or the message behind it.

Some artists that have inspired me include Chuck Close, for his incredible detail, determination, and the amount of time he spends on his work, the Baroque artists, especially Caravaggio, because of his use of darks and lights and his subject matter, and Mucha, Monet, and Durer for their use of nature in art and attention to detail. I also find the work of Dali and Escher very intriguing, appreciating that the meanings behind their work are never cut and dry and that intellectual contemplation is required in order to understand them. Though I do a lot of commissioned animal drawings and portraits, I love to go deeper and have underlying meaning and symbolism displayed in my work.

I believe that being an artist goes beyond what a person puts on paper, and should carry over into everyday life. Even when I’m not drawing, creating art, taking pictures, or brainstorming, I notice art in the world wherever I go. I look for shadows and colors and the beauty constantly fluctuating all around me in nature and in community.
About Me
I grew up in Ballwin, MO, near St. Louis and went to college at Concordia University in Nebraska, where I earned my Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic Design and Illustration. When I graduated, I left the corn fields behind to move to beautiful Steamboat Springs, CO in 2014. I worked as a graphic designer there for 4 years, but spent most of my time hiking, biking, floating the river, rock climbing, camping, skiing, and snowboarding. I moved to Fort Collins in September of 2018 to be closer to family, and I worked as a lead project manager at Madwire, where I facilitated the building of branding packages, content, websites, and special projects.
In late 2021, I began working for White Label IQ as a digital project manager, doing production work for agencies, including custom websites, app development, design, complex renders, and more. When I’m not at work, I spend my free time playing games, going dancing, creating artwork, volunteering, watching movies, climbing, and traveling whenever and wherever I can. I love all outdoor activities and I’m always down for crazy adventures or social happy hours, and I have an awesome 8 year old border collie mix named River.
