Artist & Illustrator
I specialize in realistic animal and human portraiture, as well as storytelling and surrealism, and I’m known for using heavy contrast and over-saturated colors in my work.
I am currently working on several different series of work, but I accept commissions by request.

I grew up in Ballwin, Missouri and attended college at Concordia University, NE, where I earned a BFA in graphic design and illustration and a BA in ecclesiastical art. I spent four years living and working in Steamboat Springs, Colorado, and I'm currently residing in Fort Collins, Colorado, where I work on artwork out of my home studio.
About Jessica
Blissful Moments
The latest series I've been working on, Blissful Moments, plans to highlight the small and seemingly mundane moments of life that make life special and worth living. No matter what stage of life you're in or what is going on, life can be flawlessly beautiful if you're willing to take a moment and look/reflect. This series calls out those little things in the hope that it might help you find the beauty in your own lives.
Portraits
This series is comprised of mainly commissions. Photo-realistic portraits are challenging and time consuming, but offer beautiful snapshots of people's lives and loved ones. Some portraits showcase important moments in people's lives, like weddings or birthdays or celebrations, and others are in memory of precious people that were lost. Portraits are precious gifts that I always enjoy giving.
Illustrations
The pieces in this series contain artwork that have a deeper meaning or tell a story. A few in this series have religious or life origin exploration, some display the depth of human emotion and longing or nostalgia, and some represent the character or personality of the person that commissioned the work. Custom art and Illustrations are some of my favorite kinds of artwork to complete.
Abstracts
Most of the pieces in this series are experimental and full of expression. Often I will create an abstract piece when I need a creative break from the detailed and time consuming drawings I normally make. They allow me to escape from the structure and rules and purely create something in the spirit of fun and freedom.
